The challenge is on....
.....to find the best multisport team in the district! We are looking for teams of two to enter the Whitehorse Challenge, being held as part of the Quantum Advantage Whitehorse Big Easy event, on April 9 2017 in Waimate.
The event is doubling as the launch of the stunning new Mountain Biking and Running tracks up the Whitehorse. With a variety of grades, and over 25km of trails, these will offer an amazing venue available for all weekend warriors looking to get their downhill (and uphill) fix.
There are three parts to the challenge - one team member completes an 18km run, the second a 25km mountain bike, and finally the team as a whole has to raise $500 for charity. The money will be going to a variety of local, regional, and national charities, as well as going towards the further development of even more tracks in the region. Your team will receive a pre-made Give-a-Little page to aid in your fundraising efforts, so the sky is the limit in terms of how your team reaches the $500 target.
Note: Your give-a-little page will be linked to the Waimate Rotary Club, and therefore all donations will be tax deductible.
On the day teams and supporters will be welcomed in the Whitehorse Challenge hospitality area. Food and drinks (to purchase), and prime viewing of the live course video feeds will be available.
We have FREE campsites on offer for the night before, so you can even make a weekend of it!
So the questions is, which club will come out on top in the inaugural challenge? The Waimate TocH Harriers and Whitehorse MTB Riders are joining forces to enter a duo that can hopefully retain the trophy in Waimate. Get your team together and really get the endorphins flowing by combining exercise and charity! Your colleagues and friends may also like to enter one of our companion run or bike events on the day.
Don't be afraid to accept the challenge, and remember our team will be here with you the whole way to assist in your fundraising efforts, including promoting many of the great ideas that each group comes up with along the way!
To enter or for any questions or queries email Ryan Luckman.
