Last night Peter & Connor Bootsma ran up the Big Easy and down the walking track and Peter said he had never seen so many people out running, walking and biking. There is certainly a positive buzz around town about the event, and it is fantastic to see people getting out training and using the tracks. Many people are working hard behind the scenes to make sure the tracks are in good condition.
Planning is going well and we are getting fantastic support from all the community, young and old. Our sponsors share our belief that this event will bring many benefits to our community, with all profits going to charity and to further develop our amazing tracks. This event is a great way to publicise our tracks, and bring more visitors to our town.

Permits and licences are starting to be finalized, DOC are helping sort out the permit for using their land and a big thank you has to go to Shelley Wilson for all the hard work she is doing on the traffic management plan, this event really would not be possible without the help of people like Shelley.
Signs have gone up on the main road, and the Timaru Council are going to put up a large banner for us promoting the event.
We would like to encourage everyone to have a go at an event, we have courses for every age and fitness level, from 5km walks to 25km bikes and lots in between. We also have 1.5km events to get younger children involved. We would like to encourage businesses to put together a group to walk, run or bike and train together. This could also be a good chance for challenging rival businesses or businesses you work with. ENTER HERE
We are also looking volunteers for marshalling and to help out on the day. We would also appreciate businesses who are happy to donate smaller prizes for on the day. Please get in touch if you think you can help out. CONTACT US
